The NIE Photographic Society was formed in 1975 by the then staff photographer James Moreland FBIPP AFIAP for employees of the Northern Ireland Electricity Service.
Being a member of NIE PS gives you the opportunity to meet fellow photographers and learn from them in a social atmosphere. We have members at al skill levels and we actively promote an educational element to the club both in one to one assistance, demonstration and tutorial evenings as well as open conversation about the skills and techniques members use and continue to develope.
You can also submit your work to a number of competitions,
exhibitions and salons throughout the year. As a member of the
East Antrim Photographic Union we compete in an inter-club
competition open to all skill levels including beginners.

The Society is a member of the Northern Ireland Photographic Association (NIPA), which in turn is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB)
We have some members who participate in audio visual work and have been very successful over the years in the AV festival held at Ballyearl Arts and leisure centre.
The society actively encourages photographers of different skill levels and is always keen to welcome to photographers from all backgrounds.
